Our first Guest review from a friend of the blog Steven Gordon

Watching burn notice, which I think is aptly titled for a cigar review.
In my apartment with the fan on.
Maybe 75 degrees and not so humid in here.
This was a Royal Corona from 2009, in a tube.
Paired with pappy Van Winkle Lot B, neat.

There was a nice milk chocolatey wrapper on this round cigar.
Pre Light had a good draw and a faint German cocoa taste.

It clipped well, and lit easily
A great, lush draw, with loads of smoke.
The cigar started earthy with some hard candy sweet flavors, with the aroma of
soft leather.
When paired with the bourbon, it became full of
anise and licorice flavors, which ultimately faded to birchwood.
Then cedar, damp earth and pine occurred, between sips.

The second third was full of dark honey, with
damp earth recurring.
The burn was mostly straight and became crooked for about 2 minutes.
The ash was gray and white. Still, a draw on the open side.

The final third saw cinnamon and ginger flavors emerge, with, at the end,
burnt creme brulee essence. This was only after sipping the bourbon,
It then merged slowly back to cedar and damp earth. There were copious amounts of smoke, especially in the last third.

It is really interesting
paying attention to details, as they become evident,
and I needed to pay close attention to what I was sensing or smelling or tasting.
I did not mind it at all.

Overall, it was a smart pairing, that really drew out the sweet and gingersnap qualities of the Bolivar.
